How Exact Age Is Calculated from Date of Birth

Start by counting how many complete calendar years have elapsed. If your birthday has not yet occurred this year, subtract one from the year count.
Step 2: Count full months
After accounting for full years, count how many complete calendar months have passed since your last birthday.

Step 4: Adjust for leap years
February 29 birthdays receive special treatment. The calculator correctly identifies leap years (divisible by 4, except centuries not divisible by 400) and adjusts the calculation accordingly.
