The TI-84 graphing calculator is the most widely used calculator in American high schools and colleges. Texas Instruments sells the physical device for $100–$150. Schools require it for algebra, pre-calculus, AP Statistics, and standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. Our free TI-84 calculator online gives you all the core functionality in your browser at zero cost no download, no account, no subscription.
What Is the TI-84 Plus CE?
The TI-84 Plus CE is a graphing calculator produced by Texas Instruments. The "CE" stands for Color Edition it features a full-color 320×240 pixel display, a rechargeable battery, and TI-BASIC programming. Our TI-84 graphing calculator simulator replicates the core functionality: graphing, scientific calculations, matrix operations, statistics, and value tables without the $130 price tag.
Features of This Free TI-84 Calculator Online
Native Graphing Engine
Real Canvas-based rendering not an iframe embed. Plot 3 functions simultaneously with live window adjustment. Every competitor embeds a static iframe; this is a full native implementation.
Full Matrix Calculator (4×4)
Multiply, add, subtract, transpose, and compute determinants for matrices up to 4×4. Type directly into grid cells. Includes dimension-mismatch error messages.
Complete 1-Variable Statistics
Paste any dataset and instantly get 13 statistical measures: mean, median, σ (population), s (sample), Q1, Q3, IQR, range, min, max, count, sum, and mode.
Value Table Generator
Exactly like 2nd+GRAPH on a TI-84. Set start, step, and expression generates a precise 20-row x/Y1 table instantly.
Authentic TI-84 Keyboard Layout
Y=, WINDOW, ZOOM, TRACE, GRAPH across the top. 2nd and ALPHA modifiers. SIN/COS/TAN row. Memory buttons. All exactly where your muscle memory expects them.
30-Entry Calculation History
Every calculation saves automatically. Click any history entry to reload that result. Great for multi-step work or recovering intermediate values.
Authentic TI-Style Error Messages
ERR:DOMAIN, ERR:DIVIDE BY 0, ERR:OVERFLOW just like the physical calculator. Each error also explains why, so you learn from mistakes.
Full Keyboard Support
Numbers, +, −, *, /, ^, Enter, Escape, and Backspace all work from your keyboard. Faster than clicking for long expressions.
How to Use the TI-84 Online Calculator?
Step 1: Graph a function
Click Graph mode. Type your expression in Y1= using x as the variable e.g. sin(x), x^2-3x+2, or 2*x+1. The graph plots automatically. Adjust Xmin, Xmax, Ymin, Ymax to change the viewing window. Add up to 3 functions in Y1, Y2, Y3 to compare curves simultaneously.
Step 2: Run a scientific calculation
Stay in Calculator mode. Enter your number first, then press the function button. For sin(30°), switch to DEG mode first, enter 30, then press SIN. Press 2nd to access inverse functions (sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹) and e^x, 10^x, and cube root.
Step 3: Perform matrix operations
Click Matrix mode. Set rows and columns for [A] and [B] (up to 4×4). Fill in the values. Choose multiply, add, subtract, transpose, or determinant, then press Compute.
Step 4: Calculate statistics
Click Statistics mode. Enter data values separated by commas or spaces. Press Calculate 1-Var Stats to get 13 measures: count, sum, mean, median, mode, min, max, Q1, Q3, IQR, range, σ (population), and s (sample).
Step 5: Generate a value table
Click Table mode. Enter your expression in Y1= (e.g. x^2 or sin(x)), set TblStart and ΔTbl (step). The calculator generates a 20-row x/Y1 table exactly like pressing 2nd+GRAPH on a physical TI-84.

Why Use a TI-84 Calculator Online Instead of the Physical Device?
8 TI-84 Pro Tips Every Student Should Know
Always check RAD vs DEG before trig
sin(90) in DEG = 1. sin(90) in RAD ≈ 0.894. This single mistake causes more exam errors than anything else. Always verify the RAD/DEG badge before every trig calculation.
Use ZOOM to reset a blank graph window
If your graph looks blank, click the ZOOM button it resets Xmin/Xmax/Ymin/Ymax to standard values. This matches ZOOM → 6:ZStandard on the physical TI-84.
Use memory for multi-step algebra
Calculate one part of your equation, press STO→ to save it, then calculate the rest. Press MR to bring the saved value back. Build complex expressions one step at a time.
Graph both sides of an equation to find intersections
To solve f(x) = g(x), graph Y1 = f(x) and Y2 = g(x). The x-coordinate where they cross is the solution visible immediately without any algebra.
Use Table mode to hunt for roots
Scan the Y1 column for sign changes (+ to − or − to +). The root lies between those x values. Narrow your step size for more precision.
Check matrix dimensions before multiplying
[A]×[B] requires columns of A to equal rows of B. If [A] is 2×3, [B] must be 3×n. The calculator shows a clear error if dimensions are incompatible.
Press 2nd twice to cancel
If you accidentally press 2nd, press it again to cancel without choosing a function. The yellow '2nd' badge disappears to confirm it's deactivated.
Use keyboard shortcuts for speed
Type numbers and operators directly from your keyboard. Use Enter for equals and Escape for clear. This is much faster than clicking for long calculations.
